The '''Circuit Symbols''' box from the ''Reference Tables for Physical Science: Physics'' (2025 Edition) gives the schematic symbols used in circuit diagrams on the exam. It primarily supports [[HS-PS3-6]].

== What the circuit symbols box shows ==
Eight symbols: a battery (long and short parallel lines), a power supply (a circle marked + and −), a switch, a voltmeter (V in a circle) and an ammeter (A in a circle), a resistor (zigzag), a variable resistor (zigzag with an arrow) and a light bulb (a circle with a cross). A voltmeter is connected across a component, in parallel with it; an ammeter is connected in line with the current, in series. The 2006 edition's box had a single cell and a lamp where the 2025 edition has a power supply and a light bulb.
