About Us

From NY Science Standards Wiki

The NY Science Standards Wiki is a non-monetized volunteer project that is a free to use resource for science teachers and other education professionals. Our goal is to make the standards easier to navigate.

This wiki is independently maintained and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the New York State Education Department. All interpretations, summaries, and adaptations are provided for informational and instructional support purposes only. Official guidance should always be confirmed through NYSED or authorized sources.

This site organizes key components of the NYSSLS — including performance expectations, assessment boundaries, clarification statements, NGSS dimensions, and performance level descriptors — in a clear and intuitive format. We also link relevant released state test questions and connect them to supporting teaching materials to support instructional planning and Regents preparation.

A major focus of the NY Science Standards Wiki is accessibility. We aim to present official NYSED science materials in a digital format that is highly optimized to be more readable, searchable, and usable — especially for those using screen readers or assistive technologies.

The NY Science Standards Wiki is a collaborative project. All editors of the site are licensed New York State education professionals . The site is independently maintained and updated by educators to ensure accuracy, clarity, and relevance.

All content on this site is either adapted from official public NYSED documents or is the original creation of licensed New York State education professionals.

The NY Science Standards Wiki serves teachers, curriculum designers, and administrators seeking to align instruction with the New York State Science Learning Standards (NYSSLS) and prepare students for science Regents assessments.
