The Model of Earth's Interior Structure from the Reference Tables for Earth and Space Sciences (ESSRT) shows the layers of Earth from the crust to the inner core, with their depths and densities. It primarily supports HS-ESS2-3.

Model of Earth's Interior Structure from the Earth and Space Sciences Reference Tables (ESSRT): wedge of Earth showing the continental and oceanic crust, upper and lower mantle, fluid outer core and solid inner core with their depths and densities

What the model of Earth's interior shows

The model is a wedge of Earth from the surface to the center, 6378 km down. It labels the continental crust (30 to 50 km thick, granitic, 2.7–2.9 g/cm3) and the oceanic crust (5 to 15 km thick, basaltic, 3.0 g/cm3), the upper and lower mantle (3.4–5.6 g/cm3), the fluid outer core (9.9–12.2 g/cm3) and the solid inner core (12.8–13.1 g/cm3). Depth labels mark 400 km and 670 km in the mantle, 2900 km at the top of the outer core and 5150 km at the top of the inner core. The model is not drawn to scale.
