The Portion of Electromagnetic Spectrum Related to Earth and Space Sciences chart from the Reference Tables for Earth and Space Sciences (ESSRT) shows the part of the electromagnetic spectrum from ultraviolet through visible light and infrared to microwaves, by wavelength and by frequency. It primarily supports HS-ESS1-2.

Portion of the electromagnetic spectrum from the Earth and Space Sciences Reference Tables (ESSRT): ultraviolet, visible light, infrared and microwaves on wavelength (nm) and frequency (Hz) scales, with the visible spectrum expanded from violet to red

What the electromagnetic spectrum chart shows

A wavelength scale in nanometers runs from 1 nm to 109 nm (1 meter), with the matching frequency scale in hertz below it, from 1018 Hz down to 106 Hz. Ultraviolet, infrared and microwaves are labeled along the scale, and the narrow band of visible light between ultraviolet and infrared is expanded to show the wavelength ranges of violet, blue, green, yellow, orange and red light, from 4.0 × 102 nm to 7.0 × 102 nm. Arrows show that energy and frequency increase toward shorter wavelengths, and a key defines nm (nanometer) and Hz (hertz).
