The Selected Units table from the Reference Tables for Physical Science: Chemistry (2025 Edition) gives the symbol and name of each unit used on the exam. No standard depends on it in particular, but it is the place to check what a symbol stands for in a quantitative question, so it is listed with the standards that involve calculations, HS-PS1-9 and HS-PS3-1.

Selected Units from the Chemistry Reference Tables (2025 Edition)

What the units table shows

Eleven base units: the atmosphere and the pascal for pressure (related by 1 atm = 101.3 kPa), degrees Celsius and kelvin for temperature (related by K = °C + 273.15), the gram, the hertz, the joule, the liter, the meter, the mole and the second. Units built from these with a prefix (kPa, kJ, mL, nm) take the factors in Selected Metric Prefixes, and derived units such as g/mol, mol/L (M) and J/g·K are written out from the base units. The 2011 edition's Table D also named the quantity each unit measures and had a somewhat different list: it included the minute, hour, day and year, M for molarity, the atomic mass unit (u) and ppm, while atm, °C and Hz are new in the 2025 edition.
