The Electricity page of the Reference Tables for Physical Science: Physics (2025 Edition) is the electricity equation sheet: seven equations with the meaning of their variables. Coulomb's law, the electric-field equation and W = qV support HS-PS2-4 and HS-PS3-5; Ohm's law, power, electrical energy and current support HS-PS3-6, together with the Circuit Symbols, Series Circuits and Parallel Circuits boxes on the same page. Every equation has its own row anchor.

Equations
Fe = kq1q2r2
Fe = qE
W = qV
P = VI = I2R = V2R
W = Pt = VIt = I2Rt = V2tR
V = IR
I = Δqt
Variables
E = electric field strength
Fe = electrostatic force
I = current
k = electrostatic constant
P = power
q = charge
r = distance between centers
R = resistance
Req = equivalent resistance
t = time interval
V = potential difference
W = work or electrical energy
Δ = change

What the electricity page shows

Electrostatics. Fe = kq1q2/r2 is Coulomb's law, with k from the List of Physical Constants; it has the same inverse-square form as universal gravitation, which is the comparison HS-PS2-4 asks for. Fe = qE relates the force on a charge to the electric field strength (the 2006 edition wrote it as E = Fe/q), and W = qV gives the work done moving a charge through a potential difference (the 2006 edition's V = W/q). A charge in elementary charges is converted to coulombs with e from the constants list.

Circuits. V = IR is Ohm's law and I = Δq/t defines current. The power and energy lines give every combination of V, I and R: P = VI = I2R = V2/R, and W = Pt for the energy used in a time t. The 2006 edition also gave the resistance of a wire, R = ρL/A, with a table of resistivities; neither is on the 2025 tables.

Rows

Each row of the table has an anchor, so a link or an {{Rt}} chip (Template:Rt) can point at one equation or constant:

  • coulomb – Fe = kq1q2/r2
  • electric-field – Fe = qE
  • w-qv – W = qV
  • electric-power – P = VI = I2R = V2/R
  • electrical-energy – W = Pt = VIt
  • ohm – V = IR
  • current – I = Δq/t
